Tanzania’s youth camp

img_0034-2Hi guys and Welcome back to our blog!

Today we’ll bring you an overview of the Youth camp in Tanzania! Some of the youth travelled all the way from U.K. to attend this awesome event and they had a wonderful time!

Stephen Gachengo opened the camp reassuring the young people that Jesus is able to keep us, change us & bring a fire in our hearts for Him (Psalms 85:6).

“Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord” (Acts 3:19). Stephen stressed on the fact that there is no revival when the flesh is Alive, but only through repentance & dealing of the flesh.  There was a call for salvation and for Jesus to be Lord of their lives & for those who felt they had lost their way.

Len led the next two meetings, sharing about maintaining a living gospel in our hearts, eating spiritual manna, keeping our hearts pure and letting God lead the way (Numbers 21:4 and John 3:14).

The young people were reminded that times of refreshment always come from Jesus’ presence. In Genesis 6:5 God was grieved because his people turned away from Him. In Hebrews 11:7 Paul reminds us that, by faith, Noah built the ark after being warned of things to come. Today, we are warned of things to come, but are we building our ark? We fight to be connected to Wi-Fi, but Noah was connected to nothing else but God. What are we connecting our hearts and lives to today? Is it God?

The evening session was led by Tim McKenzie and Len, sharing on our call to walk on the road that leads to life, with the seal of the Holy Spirit and our need to inspect our hearts to see what road we are on. (Mathew 7:23).

On the 3rd day, Len shared on our inability to hear God’s word if our hearts are not circumcised. “Remove your sandals so that you don’t walk in your own ways, but let God guide your feet where He wants you to go”. (Philippians 1:6 and Joshua 5:8). If we don’t see that God can equip us and we don’t believe that God will go before us, then we will remain in the wilderness.

The camp was powerfully ended with Len sharing on the Spirit of God needing to take over our lives. 140 young people were baptised in the Holy Spirit. Straight after, the call for water baptism was made and 160 youth went into the water to be baptised.

We give all the Glory to the Lord & we rejoice for what the Lord has done during this youth camp!
