And, of course, it was a very special and important time, as we shared our vision and expectations for 2017 as young people.
Tim McKenzie led the meeting and we were deeply reminded that true faith always bears fruit, often times those fruits coming through actions.
“You see, then, that it is by people’s actions that they are put right with God, and not by their faith alone.”James 2:24
Sometimes, we might have faith for something and go ahead on our own and see the fruits. However, there are other times when it is necessary to share the faith we have with others so that different gifts and abilities can come together in order for the fruit to be produced.
What do you have faith for in 2017?
This was our challenge yesterday. What are we believing the Lord for regarding the young adults in 2017?
We realised that 2017 promises to be a great year, as projects such as community outreach by bag packing, bible studies, networking with other churches, sports/bbq day, summer youth camp and fasting came up. Each one of us was encouraged to trust the Lord to help us act upon the things he had given us faith for. If we have faith for something and do nothing about it, we will lose what we’ve been given.
Everyone was encouraged to go out of our little bubble and join a club or society, meet different people and share our hearts and testimonies with them. For the heart of Jesus is not for us to fellowship only with other Christians, but to share the Good news with everyone.
“Go, then, to all peoples everywhere and make them my disciples: baptise them in the name of the father, the son, and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And I will be with you always, to the end of the earth.”Mathew 28:19
