Psalm 119:105 – ‘Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.’ (NKJ Version)

One of the ways we like to be in control of our lives is to try and work out everything for our future. We plot and we scheme about the many things we face and we can become fearful when not everything is clear. When our lives are submitted to the Lord we can be assured that he will speak to us about our lives and what will be best for us.

A lamp gives a bright light to a limited area. So the Lord is saying he will show us clearly what is right ahead of us but beyond that, we will only have some idea of the general direction as indicated by “the light unto my path”. Don’t expect to have the same amount of detail.  The Lord simply want us to trust him for the next step.
