A relationship with God!

Who is the man, that you are mindful of him? (Psalm 8:4)

One day, while I was in the presence of the Lord, the Holy Spirit convicted me of how I was taking my relationship with God lightly. There was no condemnation in that but I knew something needed to change in my heart.

Is your relationship with the Lord real? Each of us must always ask ourselves this question. Every day of our lives!

By the grace of God I am reminded that it’s a real privilege to walk with the Lord and to know God personally through Jesus Christ. It just made me ask the same question as Job asked in Job 7:17-18 (NKJV) :

“What is man, that You should exalt him,

That You should set Your heart on him?

That You should visit him every morning,

And test him every moment?”

In a different translation (NIV) it says: “What is mankind that you make so much of them, that you give them so much attention, that you examine them every morning and test them every moment?”

So who are we that God Himself, the Creator of the Universe is mindful of us? It’s not a small thing, that God is so interested in our hearts and in our lives and that He is always there to listen to the cries of our hearts.

God sent His Only Son Jesus to die on the cross in my place. Why? Because He loves me that much! (John 3:16). In 2 Peter 3:9 says that God is patient and wants all people to repent of their sins and have eternal life through Him.

Perhaps Job’s and David’s question is not even about who we are but it points toward who God is!

Still it’s hard to comprehend how much God loves me and who He is. But when I think of who God is and what Jesus has done for me, my heart becomes fearful and I reconsider my relationship with the Lord.

With this in mind, here’s a great video about who God is:
